    Top Advantages of Exercise

    Physical activities such as jogging, athletics, walking, all of which can be grouped as exercises are important to maintain one’s health at all ages for both men and women. Regular exercises are especially helpful for people who are usually involved in occupations that don’t require a lot of movement, such as administrators, office assistant, lawyers and accountants among others.

    Many people are not aware of the advantage that can be drawn from regular exercises. For best results, the type and amount of exercises performed will depend on the age and even health of a person. If the correct type and amount of exercises are performed, all parts of the body will function at their best. By performing exercises for a period, the muscles become rigid in tone, active and operate at maximum efficiency. Fatigue and associated aches and pains are deferred during the exercise.

    The heart, whose role is to pump blood around the body, works more efficiently. For example, when a person is at rest, the heart pumps five liters of blood per minute. During exercise, pumping can be up to 25 liters per minute. Since all the organs of the body require oxygen, many parts of the body that can function without adequate supply blood and oxygen are well-fed during exercise, due to increased pumping of the blood.

    The lungs also perform more efficiently during exercise. As you already know, the lungs take part in capturing the oxygen that is needed by the body to burn food. During the exercise, the lungs provide more oxygen to the blood and ease the discharge of waste gases from the body.

    Failure to exercise leads to laxity of the muscles in children. The affected children do not usually use their lungs entirely in breathing because there is an insufficient amount of oxygen, which is necessary to burn food for energy. Exercise should be encouraged by their rapid growth and high demand for oxygen. Children that don’t exercise are likely to suffer from lung diseases.

    It’s, therefore, important to encourage children to play, thereby exercising their body. Even the physically challenged are encouraged to play but with few restrictions.

    In the adult life, and in particular middle age, is the lack of exercise in connection with the attracting substantial amount of weight. Putting on excess weight makes causes some diseases and discomforts, such as persistent dyspepsia and constipation symptoms that are not related to overeating at all. In this stage of the life, which is more serious is that there is an increased risk of developing a medical condition called coronary thrombosis and atherosclerosis.

    You might now ask, is there any danger in over-exercising?

    Over-exercise usually does not cause permanent damage, provided that the individual does not have a medical condition and is not injured during the exercise. The human body can adapt, so that if there is a possibility of too much pressure on the heart, fainting may occur so that the practice in question stopped before damage is done.

    Finally, we must note that if there is an undetected heart disease, too much or unnecessary exercise can cause permanent damage. It is, therefore, necessary to have a careful medical examination before undergoing any form of exercise. This aspect is important in the case of students or those joining the armed forces.
